Media Best Practices
Two sizes cover everything on Esora. Supply your media in these shapes and it will look right on every surface — feed, search, event pages, and festival banners:
| Media | Aspect ratio | Size | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Event images | 4:5 (portrait) | 1200 × 1500 px or larger | JPEG, PNG, or WebP · up to 10 MB |
| Event videos | 4:5 (portrait) works best | — | MP4, MOV, or WebM · up to 200 MB |
| Festival key art | 2:1 (landscape) | 2400 × 1200 px or larger | JPEG, PNG, or WebP |
Event images and videos
Section titled “Event images and videos”4:5 is the same shape as an Instagram post. Event cards — in the feed, in search, and in category rows — always show a 4:5 crop of your cover image, so a 4:5 upload appears everywhere exactly as you designed it.
- Any shape is accepted — nothing gets rejected or stretched. Your event page always shows the image in full; cards crop to 4:5 from the center, so a wide landscape image loses its left and right edges there.
- Upload the highest resolution you have — Esora generates optimized sizes for every screen, but never enlarges, so images narrower than about 1200 px look soft on big screens.
For videos, a preview thumbnail is generated automatically — no need to upload one.
Festival key art
Section titled “Festival key art”Festivals get a dedicated, branded hub page on Esora, with a large banner on the web, in the app, and on the home feed — all cropped from this one image. Festival pages are set up together with the Esora team: contact us to get started.
- Don’t bake the festival name or dates into the artwork. Esora overlays them automatically, so baked-in text would appear twice.
- Keep the key subject centered, in the upper two-thirds. The banner is cropped slightly differently on different screens, and the lower part is darkened behind the overlaid text.
- If your key art only exists in other shapes, send the highest-resolution version you have and we’ll prepare the right crops together with you.
