Following Organizers & Notifications
Following an organizer does two things: their events shape your feed, and they’re added to your Following list. But following alone won’t notify you — to get a push when they post something new, you tap the bell on their page. This is the one distinction to remember, so let’s walk through it.
Following requires a free account.
Following = a personalized feed
Section titled “Following = a personalized feed”When you follow organizers, your feed narrows to the people you follow — it becomes an agenda built around them instead of the whole city. You also get a Following list so you can see everyone you follow in one place.
If you’d rather see everything the city has to offer again, follow fewer organizers or browse signed out. There’s more on how this works in Finding Events: Feed, Search & Filters.
The bell = notifications for new events
Section titled “The bell = notifications for new events”Here’s the key part. Following an organizer does not, by itself, notify you. Following shapes your feed; it doesn’t send alerts.
To get notified, open the organizer’s page and tap the bell — “Get notified about new events.” From then on, whenever that organizer posts a new event, you get a push notification on your phone.
- Bells are per-organizer — you choose exactly whose new events are worth a ping.
- You can follow without turning on the bell, or turn on the bell without a heavy following list. They’re independent.
Managing your notifications
Section titled “Managing your notifications”You can review and adjust your notifications anytime in Settings in the mobile app.
