Check-In: Scanning Tickets at the Door

On event day, you check people in by scanning the QR code on their ticket. The Esora Organizer app turns your phone into a door scanner — no extra hardware.

In the Esora Organizer app, open the event and tap Scan tickets, then point your camera at a ticket’s QR code. Each scan gives you an instant result:

  • Admitted — valid ticket, first time through. Let them in.
  • Already scanned — this ticket was checked in before. See overrides below.
  • Invalid — not a valid ticket for this event.

Along with the result, each scan shows what you need at the door: the ticket type, the buyer’s name, and the seat for seated events.

If the order has more than one ticket, a scan shows the whole party and how many of them are already in. Count the people in front of you and check in exactly that many, right from the list.

A live check-in counter keeps a running total of who’s in.

Camera not working, or a QR code won’t read? On the scanner, tap Find guest to look the guest up by name and check them in from the list, or tap Enter code to type the code from their ticket.

If someone with an already-scanned ticket needs back in — they stepped out, or a scan happened by mistake — you can override and re-admit them. You’ll be asked for a reason, and every scan and override is logged.

Working the door with people who don’t have the Organizer app? Give each of them a scanner link. In the app, open the event, tap Scanner links, then Add scanner link. On the web console, open Door (or the event’s Scanner links page), name the link and click Add scanner link. Send the link over, or let them scan its QR code: the app shows it on the link’s screen, and on the web console click Show QR code beside the link (Download QR code saves it as an image to print or send).

  • They open it in any browser on their phone — no app, no account, no login.
  • Each link works from the start of the event day until the event ends, then stops working.
  • You can revoke a link at any time. On the web console, revoked and expired links move to No longer working, and the guests they let in still count.
